Originally Reviewed Friday August 31, 2007I'm not a follower of the adage, "it's so intense it's good". Usually when that phrase is thrown discover a flick turns discover to be simply intense and is exclusive "good" to those who spend most of their time watching Ed Wood films or the crap put discover by Troma. I personally have nothing against most of those films, I myself have begun gravitating towards more B-movies, but it's a rarity that I find one I rattling intend a squawk discover of. Every once in a patch I walk upon something that actually fulfills the "it's so intense it's good" adage, a flick that's so awful it's fun, a flick that is elating it engulfs you in whatever brainless entertainment...
Highwaymen is that film.
Highwaymen isn't a comedy but it's horribly written script and essay thin strategy modify up bringing quite a whatever laughs. Jim Caviezel is Rennie Cray, a connatural guy living a pleasant chronicle until a total stranger comes discover of nowhere and runs his wife over with his car correct in face of him. Cray chases the guy downbound and manages to return the intercommunicate by totaling his car and swing him in the hospital, but Cray ends up getting threesome eld in prison patch the assailant is permit go after major re-constructive surgery.

Now fivesome eld after his wife's murder Cray continues the catch for the Negro titled metropolis who maliciously ran her down. Fargo, today more metal than man, is ready for him. Molly (Rhona Mitra) alas becomes Fargo's next haphazard target and a pawn with which to vexer Cray. Cray happens to be in the! correct place at the correct time and is able to spend Molly ! in Fargo 's first attempt, but this exclusive angers metropolis and she today becomes cragfast in the middle as Cray seeks punish for his wife's murder and metropolis seeks punish for existence turned into a paraplegic.

What makes
Highwaymen so entertaining is its attempt at existence quite serious, but with a script that's so awful you can't support but vocalization at the one liners Caviezel throws out. My favorite had to be in reference to Fargo, as he explains to Molly that the doctors had to "rebuild him from the lowermost up", which reminded me of
something discover of the
Million Dollar Man or that animator coney commercial where they express that they've prefabricated him "faster and stronger!"

On the nonnegative side the countenance! of the flick is pretty sweet, in a gritty way, and the action sequences, patch totally unbelievable and outlandish, are quite elating and entertaining. Overall,
Highwaymen may be a abominably written flick with a see-through plot, but what it lacks in intelligent talking it makes up for in visuals and overall entertainment. I have to provide credit to Caviezel and whatever of the another actors for existence able to have whatever horrible talking with such conviction and seriousness, that's genuinely talent and it definitely adds to the recreation continuance of this film. In the end,
Highwaymen is substantially worth a rent, I was rattling quite astonied at how such I enjoyed this film. My advice is turn off your brains for an hour and a half, clutch a bowl of popcorn, intend a bunch of your friends together and permit the good nowadays roll!
